Privacy policy

What Forklift Safety Data collects when you use this site, who it goes to, and how to get it deleted. In short: nothing is collected unless you fill in a form, and your details reach a supplier only if you ask for a quote and tick the consent box.

Effective August 20, 2026.

Who is responsible

Forklift Safety Data is operated by Forklift Safety Data, 99 Wall Street, Suite 1441, New York, NY 10005, United States. Forklift Safety Data decides why and how personal data submitted through this site is handled, and is the party you contact about it. Write to [email protected].

What we collect

Information you give us. The only personal information this site asks for is what you type into one of its forms: the fields shown on that form, which form it was, and the page you submitted it from. Nothing on this site requires an account, and you can read every page, every figure and every guide without giving us anything at all.

Information collected automatically. When you submit a form, our endpoint derives a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address and stores that hash, never the address itself. It exists to stop one source flooding the form and is not used to identify you, build a profile, or link your submissions together across time. Separately, our hosting provider keeps standard web server access logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting, under their own retention schedule.

We do not collect precise location, device fingerprints, behavioural profiles, or any special category of data. Please do not put sensitive personal information, medical details or identifiable information about your employees into a form message.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, no A/B testing and no third-party scripts of any kind. That is a structural property rather than a promise: the build refuses to publish a page that contains a script tag, with a single audited exception for the Forklift Safety Risk Scorer calculator, which runs entirely inside your browser, makes no network requests and sends nothing anywhere.

Because we set no cookies and run no trackers, there is no cookie banner, no consent manager, and nothing for you to opt out of on the reading side of this site.

Why we process it

Processing necessary to respond to the quote enquiry submitted by the data subject.

Concretely, we use what you submit to reply to you, to prepare a vendor-neutral shortlist for the requirement you described, and where you have asked for a quote and consented, to pass that same requirement to suppliers so they can price it. We do not use it for unrelated marketing, and we do not add you to a newsletter you did not ask for.

Every form that captures your details carries a consent checkbox that is never pre-ticked. For quote requests the wording is: “I agree that my details are used to respond to my quote request and may be shared with relevant safety-system suppliers to prepare that quote, as described in the privacy policy.” The exact wording you agreed to, and the moment you agreed to it, are stored alongside your enquiry so that both sides have the same record.

We ask for no marketing consent and process none. If that ever changes, it will be a separate, clearly labelled, optional checkbox, and this policy will say so before it is used.

Who receives it

Safety-system suppliers. When you request a quote and give consent, we send your requirement to the suppliers whose products fit it. We send the same scope to each of them so the quotes you receive are comparable. We take no fee for placement in our comparisons and no supplier pays to be on a shortlist. Once a supplier has your enquiry they are an independent controller of it and their own privacy policy governs what they do next.

Service providers. Our web host stores this site and the database holding enquiries, and our mail provider transmits notification email. They act on our instructions and do not use your data for their own purposes.

Nobody else. We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not trade, rent or syndicate enquiry data to data brokers, advertising networks or list vendors. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for 12 months from the date you submit them and are then deleted. If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep a record to comply with a legal obligation. Suppliers who have already received your enquiry keep it under their own retention schedules, so ask them directly if you want it removed on their side too.

How it is protected

The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated on the server, rate limited, and written to a database that is not reachable from the public internet. Database credentials live outside the web root and are never present in any page this site serves. No security is absolute, and we cannot guarantee that a transmission over the internet is free from interception, but we do not ask you for anything on this site that would be dangerous to send.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it. You can withdraw a consent you gave us at any time, which stops any further sharing though it does not undo sharing that already happened. You will never be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, email [email protected] from the address you used on the form, or tell us enough to find the enquiry. We answer within 30 days. If we cannot identify you from what you send us, we may have to ask for more detail, and if we still cannot, we may not be able to act on the request.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and believe we have handled your data improperly, you may also complain to your national data protection authority.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties we disclosed it to. You may request deletion or correction, and you may ask us not to share your information.

The categories we collect are identifiers (your name, work email, company) and commercial information (the requirement you described). We collect them directly from you. We disclose them to safety-system suppliers for the business purpose of getting you a quote, and only where you have consented. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration, and we do not knowingly collect or share the personal information of anyone under 16. Send requests to [email protected].

Children

This is a business-to-business site about workplace safety equipment. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes to what we collect or who receives it will be described here rather than made quietly. This policy covers this site only, not any supplier site you reach from it.

This site provides general safety information, not legal or professional advice. Consult a qualified safety professional or attorney for guidance on your specific obligations. Questions about this policy go to [email protected].
