Who are the best RTLS vendors for manufacturing?

The right RTLS vendor for a manufacturing plant depends on what the location data must do, so evaluate vendors against your use cases rather than a ranking. Key criteria are the positioning technology and its accuracy (UWB for precise indoor ranging, BLE for lower-cost zone presence, GPS for outdoor yards), performance in metal-heavy areas, tag battery life, an open API to pass data to MES, WMS or ERP systems, and whether the same infrastructure can support forklift-pedestrian safety and emergency mustering. Ask for a site survey and a pilot in your hardest area before committing.

The full guide is RTLS for forklift safety, which explains how indoor location works and which safety uses justify it. Suppliers that combine RTLS with forklift safety are listed in Forklift safety system vendors compared and the vendor directory.

In a pilot, measure position accuracy at known points, latency, tag dropouts near presses and racking, and the effort to install anchors. Check who owns the data, how many anchors full coverage needs, and the cost of adding zones later. Analyst rankings say little about fit for a given plant layout.
